[SA] Police & Military bases, avoiding wanted levels.

Does anybody know a method on GTA:San Andreas of getting into Police
Stations and Military Bases (such as the Naval Base in Easter Basin)
without receiving a wanted level?

In the previous version a police uniform allowed you to roam such places
without attracting attention from the authorities.

Although I am lead to believe that this is not possible in San Andreas.
I don't get on with this Barbara chick either, if this still works
then I'll stick at it...

Nope, it doesn't work. she gives you the uniform just for fancy. She
does, however, let you keep all your weapons and cash if you're
arrested so make sure you don't kill her or piss her off in any other
way :O)

Apparently there are one or two missions where, if you fancy, you can
go walkabouts and not get a wanted star at all. I'm sure someone will
be kind enough to let you know which ones

Police stations are no problem. Before you enter, put your weapons away.
Walk in empty-handed (not even the camera), and you can walk around at your
leisure. Don't sock any cops. Don't pick up any weapons you find. (Well,
there is a trick, involving a special "toy" you may discover in the police
station.)

For the military bases, you can explore during a "no stars" mission, such as
Reuniting the Families. Start the mission, but don't go inside the motel
when you're supposed to. Go anywhere you want and explore. You can't GET a
star (although there are certain places that you can get shot anyway, if you
cause trouble).
