Anyone got any great ideas about the beating the car chase part of the
"A Home In The Hills" mission? The pink Windsor handles like shit and I
had a tough time even staying close to the Phoenix. It was particularly
bad if Big Poppa decides to go to the right fork at the split just
outside the mansion ...you know, the big steep curve road down to
Mulholland. I always spin out or hit something at some point down that
big curve.

I managed to pass the mission the one time he took the left fork (which
U-turned along the hill) ... but my PC crashed before I could save so
out of frustration I just mod the Windsor to handle like a Bullet and
passed it like a breeze.

But still, any tips on passing this easier?

Oh by the way, I was so frustrated that I had to do the parachute
thing, the shoot-out on the ceiling, the shoot-out inside the mansion
(which was fun for the first few times but so easy anyway) again and
again that I just turned on the infinite ammo with my minigun and
blasted through quickly to the car chasing :-p

I just did a driveby and 'accidently' shot Big Poppa.

The Phoenix blew up which was a shame as I wanted to drive it back to
my garage.

You can get the Phoenix from the races at the back of Wang's Autos later in
the game. Start the race, drive to a garage, put the car in the garage,
then let the time run out. The car will be inside the garage.

Nah, I am on PC, so the GTA:SA Car Spawner is a much more convenient
option if I want to cheat the game. Any vehicle at the snap of fingers.

There's a much easier way to obtain the Phoenix: Start the street races
in San Fierro (Right next to the Pay 'n Spray and TransFender in
Doherty) and choose San Fierro Hills.

When the race starts, simply turn around and head back to where you
walked into the red glow and get out of the car. Wait for the time to
run down to fail the race and press triangle to exit the street race
menu.

Tada! Your very own Phoenix. It looks the bomb when modded.

Cheers,
Rob

At the start, don't be too fast because it's very very easy to slip in
the twisty downhill driveway. Take a bit more time there. Then, when
you're on the road, get close to Poppa and do the PIT manouvre on him.
Now you can shoot him all the way to hell (his car can't take much).

Very frustrating mission overall, because it's simply too long and a
simple error means you have to restart all over again.
