What's the earliest I can find an NRG-500? I can't find any on the
roads even when riding another bike. Anyone found one laying around
anywhere, or know of a good area to jack one early on in Los Santos?

I found it right from the start, great bike too. Where I get it is in the
east side of East Beach in a spiral parking structure that has a tag right
inside the first level. The structure is next to a building the has 2 blue
"for lease" signs high up on it and fire escapes on both sides. There are
also shop signs on it that say "Electronic", "Los Santos Jewelry Mart",
"Wills Snack Shop" and "Sports Emporium".

There are two 500s in it, one on the 2nd level and one at the top. hth.

Indeed there are. Sweet bike, and thanks for the tip.

Unfortunately, it hasn't been enough to overcome my main obstacle:
Guide jump #3. This is a northward jump whose run begins in
Conference Center, goes almost right down the centre of a divided
street under a building, and ends in Verona Beach. The ramp is a long
series of stairs, which tend to eat up all your velocity, and there is
another ramp on the building roof that one hits, typically at a bad
angle so that the ramp tends to absorb most of one's momentum rather
than give a lift.

I have tried revving and hunching on a purely straight shot, and I've
tried starting a couple blocks to the side and making as tight a turn
as I can into the final run. The game has registered that I've found
the jump, but not that I've succeeded, so I know I'm almost doing the
right thing.

Maybe someone else has succeeded on this jump? My last resort will be
to take my lowrider and kick in the nitrous, I guess, but I'd really
rather not.

How does one know when they have succeeded? I did this one a few times with
the 500, managing to land on the roof of the next building after the roof
ramp you speak of, and the slow-mo action happens, the dollar reward pops
up and it gives the length and height stats stuff. Does this mean I did it
correctly?

On a unrelated bike matter I've managed to find a FCR-900 in the parking
lot that is west of the longest peer in Santa Maria Beach. The parking lot
where there is a safe house available for purchase.

I have to say: this bike is a bad motherclucker. Insane speeds.
Unfortunately every time I've checked that lot since it hasn't reappeared.
Thankfully I put it in one of the garages.

Unfortunately not. If you completed it, you'd get a clear message:
Unique Stunt Jump Completed. However, if you do a sick enough jump to
get the slo-mo, sometimes the game gives you a dollar reward and
stats. Why they couldn't put an icon in the game for the jump, that
went away when you completed it, I don't know. This was a pain in VC
too.

This I must try. I've tried many approaches to this jump. The
trouble with long approaches from the side, besides the increased
danger of a wreck with cross traffic, is that you lose a lot of speed
when you bank. The best I've done is coming at it from the left at a
slight angle so I don't have to turn very sharply; I've almost cleared
the rooftop ramp completely. I suspect what you have to do is land on
the far roof (the one it's hell to get off of, and for some reason,
harder with the 500 than the PCJ) on the fly. However, if that's the
case, I have no idea why the rooftop ramp is there.

I looked around for ways to get on top of the buildings so as to get a
longer run, but no luck. I don't think that would help anyway,
because while in the air, with no wheels on the ground you wouldn't
gain velocity for a critical portion of the run.

If I find a way to pull this one off, I'll post. Can't wait for the
Minesweeper 100 FAQ--hope he's doing one for SA.

Finally did it. For this jump you need the 500 and a near-perfectly
straight run with no shucking and jiving, revved and floored, and a
lot of luck. I did it from the left side of the dividers.

Good to hear. What to you mean by "revved"? That where you gas and brake
burnie first?

Yes, exactly. Not having ever ridden a motorbike in real life, my
terminology is pretty lacking, but that's exactly what I did. The
requirement is a very, very long jump with a clean landing well onto
the L-shaped building (like halfway across it). As soon as I saw how
much air I got, I knew it was golden. I'm convinced it takes a 500
and a near-perfect run without any minor adjustments that cost
precious speed.

Now I just have to figure out how to get into the fenced airport area
for #8 without waiting to get a pilot's license. Some people are
impatient.:)
